Clik here to view.Move over Rambo. Take a seat Indiana Jones. When it comes to old favorites making a return to big-time prominence, few have us as geeked out as Peter Segal's upcoming "Get Smart," starring Steve Carell as the titular Maxwell Smart, a bumbling secret agent originally played by the late, great Don Adams.
Carell previously detailed the extent to which series' creators Mel Brooks and Buck Henry had lent their approval to the project, and, among other tantalizing tidbits, teased us with the promise that several stars from the original would have cameos in the film.
But one cast member who won’t be seen in the film, Carell sighed, is Barbara Feldon -- who played the beautiful and smart Agent 99 (played in the film by Anne Hathaway.)
"[She] does not have a cameo," Carell revealed, clearly disappointed by the missed opportunity. "No, she was going to come up to Montreal, but on the day that we shot she actually had a conflict."
Which is not to say, of course, that she hasn’t lent her blessing to the project.
"A lot of people came to the set who were connected with the original and it's nice because I feel like we got some votes of confidence," Carell enthused. "People who are fans of the original will be happy."
